Opening Enrollment for Our 2010 CSA!

We are now opening up our 2010 season membership drive! Currently we have many shares available, but that won't last so subscribe at your earliest convenience.
This year, for CSA members only, we have added to our "U-Pick" In addition to cherry tomatoes, peas, beans, flowers and herbs, we'll have an increased raspberry patch and strawberries! We've also added blueberries. The blueberries might take a year or two, but long term we expect great things.

Our new farmer Joshua Faller is busy preparing a crop list and we will send it to you so you will have something to look forward to. If you have any plant requests, now is the time to let us know!

Some frequently asked questions are:

What is a CSA?
It is Community Supported Agriculture. You are joining us in sharing what we grow. We are providing you the freshest foods, picked that day, with no pesticides or chemicals. And you as a member can bring your family to see and share the connection we have to the land. The CSA model works because the customers and the farmer share the benefits and the risk of growing in New England. For example, last year, due to tomato blight, very few tomatoes were grown. However, it was a great year for turnips, beans and salads!

How does it work?
Purchasing a CSA share is like purchasing a subscription to vegetables! Every week from the first of June to the last week in October, you can come to the farm and pick up your share. Pick up days will be Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:00pm to 6:30 pm. You can choose either of the two days to come by.

How Much Does it Cost?
The cost for the season is $675. You can split a share, but we leave that up to you to organize. The only requirement is that whoever picks up, picks up their entire share for that week.

Work Shares and Volunteers
There are a couple of work-for- share opportunities still available. A work share consists of one 4-5 hour work shift per week. Generally this will be the morning of your scheduled pick up. It's a great time to get out and see the beauty of the farm. There are also other volunteer needs if you desire when your schedule permits. Just let us know if you are interested.

What is Included?
We grow all the basic foods like salad, cucumbers, summer squash, tomatoes, etc. In addition, we try to keep your interest with new foods...surprise! Usually a share consists of 1 to 2 large bags of food, depending on the weather and time of season, and is enough for a family of 4 for a week. There is also a "U-Pick" component, as noted above.

How do we Sign Up?

We're really looking forward to the 2010 season. It will be bounteous, positive, and tasty!

Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. And thank you!

Sincerely,

Bryan, Joshua and Susan

  1. Is it too late to put in requests? If not, then I vote for Romanesco Broccoli!

  3. I would say absolutely yes- I love it too, unfortunately it develops very sporadically, so makes a poor CSA crop. Maybe next season I'll grow a small trial patch if you're still interested.
